Chelsea flea market and Antiques stores. (along 25th St)
the Antiques stores on 25th St (both east and west) are worth a visit. You can find lots of bakelite jewellery and vintage designer clothing.
Great vibe at Chelsea Flea Market, on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm, lively and eclectic, it offers good pieces of vintage furniture and clothing. Expect to find Ferragamo coats and 1960's Chanel suits (prices...well you can imagine...)
If you come out the opposite side of the market, on 24th, you can find a hidden gem.
RonnieScot is a little vintage warehouse selling great old military clothing and many great pieces from 50's, 60's and 70's. Prices are reasonable and if you buy more than one item they'll give you a discount.

For military vintage clothing lovers Quality Mending Co. is the place to shop! Forget Double RL, prices are far too high, this is affordable and staff are so lovely and helpful! Perfect cocktail! I loved their selection of mens vintage footwear.

Lower East Side is my favourite area to shop. The best emerging designers are collected in the numerous boutiques around Ludlow street.
